Dr Gardner graduated from Florida International University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition and received her PhD from Cornell University in 2012 in Molecular Nutrition, with emphasis on Epigenetics and Epidemiology. From 2012-2014, Dr Gardner was a Postdoctoral Trainee at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, doing research on breast cancer epigenetics.
Dr Gardner is a Registered Dietitian (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, accredited in 2007). At Labcorp, she serves as a Senior Variant Scientist in the Genomics department.
Dr Gardner has authored more than 10 articles and abstracts published in such journals as Human Mutation, Genetics in Medicine, Hereditary Cancer in Clinical Practice, BMC Medical Genomics, and Breast Cancer Research and Treatment.
She lives in Durham, North Carolina with her husband and kids. When not working, she enjoys crafts such as knitting, crocheting and cross-stitch, as well as spending time with her family.
