Thyroid Stimulating Hormone

  • It is estimated that 20 million Americans suffer from some form of thyroid disease1
  • More than 70% of hyperthyroid cases are caused by overproduction of thyroid hormone by the thyroid gland (Graves’ disease)2

Thyroid Screening

US Preventative Task Force guidelines suggest screening for women with strong family history of thyroid disease4; autoimmune disease (evidence of subclinical hypothyroidism may be related to unfavorable lipid profiles.5

Labcorp offers tests that can assist in the diagnosis of thyroid disorders, including hyperthyroidism, and autoimmune diseases such as Graves’ disease and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
