Dr. Vincent Ricchiuti obtained his Ph.D. in Immunology and Molecular Biology from the University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France, in collaboration with Sanofi Diagnostic Pasteur in Paris, France. He subsequently trained in Laboratory Medicine at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN.

From 1999 to 2011, Dr. Ricchiuti served as Laboratory Director of the Specialty Immunoassays and Clinical Translational Research Laboratories at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School (BWH/HMS) in Boston, MA. From 2011 to 2015, he was Director of Immunology, Serology, Clinical Chemistry, and Toxicology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC, now UCHealth).

In 2015, Dr. Ricchiuti joined Labcorp in Dublin, Ohio, where he serves as CLIA Laboratory Director and Discipline Director in Immunology. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

As Discipline Director in Immunology, Dr. Ricchiuti focuses on advancing and standardizing antinuclear antibody (ANA) testing programs. He has led efforts to implement automation and standardization in immunofluorescence-based ANA testing and has been instrumental in incorporating the International Consensus on ANA Patterns (ICAP) nomenclature into patient reporting. His work has helped strengthen Labcorp’s expertise in the interpretation and clinical application of ANA patterns.

At Labcorp, Dr. Ricchiuti has also contributed to the validation and implementation of automated ANA testing using immunofluorescent HEp-2 cells and to the development and implementation of novel biomarkers that improve patient care, including anti-CARP and anti-PAD4, both early markers associated with rheumatoid arthritis. He remains actively involved in evaluating and implementing emerging diagnostic technologies.

Dr. Ricchiuti is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine (ADLM, formerly AACC), the American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), where he is board certified, the Association of Medical Laboratory Immunologists (AMLI), the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), and the International Consensus on ANA Patterns (ICAP).

During his tenure at BWH/HMS, Dr. Ricchiuti founded the Translational Clinical Science Division of AACC and served as Chairman-Elect of the AACC Northeast Chapter in Boston, MA. He also served as Chairman-Elect of the NIH Translational Research Core Labs Organization in Washington, DC.

Currently, Dr. Ricchiuti is one of the founders and a past chair of the Disruptive Technology Award Competition (DATC) at ADLM and continues to serve on its committee.
