Explore Labcorp's cutting-edge noninvasive prenatal genetic screening options, including MaterniT® for cell-free DNA screening, Inheritest® for comprehensive carrier screening, and donor infectious disease testing. Benefit from our extensive clinical expertise and services designed to enhance patient experiences at every stage of life.
Since the acquisition of Sequenom in 2016, Labcorp offers the first globally commercialized prenatal cfDNA screening test, MaterniT 21 PLUS, and the first genome-wide prenatal cfDNA screening test, MaterniT GENOME. We also offer GENOME-Flex, which provides an alternative pathway when late-stage anomalies are suspected. GENOME-Flex allows us to rapidly re-sequence previously run MaterniT 21 PLUS samples using the deeper sequencing power of MaterniT GENOME, giving you options if a second prenatal cfDNA screen is required.
Every pregnancy is unique. MaterniT delivers results whether you are managing routine or high-risk pregnancies which may include:
After performing more than 3 million prenatal cfDNA screening tests, we know that not all positive results are created equal. The Mosaicism Ratio result, only available with MaterniT 21 PLUS (at no extra cost), can refine your patient's risk for aneuploidy by helping to differentiate between a positive result that is more likely to be a true positive, and one with an increased chance to be a false positive.1
As thinking around carrier screening evolves, leading U.S. medical society guidelines state that all people who are considering pregnancy or are currently pregnant should be offered carrier screening for cystic fibrosis (CF) and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
While some providers may only screen for CF and SMA, or order screening based on ethnicity, the case for more comprehensive screening is becoming clear. Medical society guidelines also now recommend an ethnic-neutral carrier screening approach for prenatal testing.
With a wide array of testing choices, Labcorp offers carrier screening for all patient backgrounds and needs, including:
