What is iGeniE?
iGeniE is Labcorp’s digital genetic assistant. It delivers genetic screening results to patients through personalized videos customized to their unique test result, helping them understand the results and available next steps.
In addition to personalized videos, all patients receive a genetic results summary, which is also provided to the practice. A genetic counselor is involved in the creation of the video and results summary for every positive result.
iGeniE is included in the cost of the test, and there is no additional charge to patients or providers.
How does iGeniE work?
Whether you are ordering Inheritest® carrier screening or MaterniT® cfDNA screening, iGeniE seamlessly fits into your workflow to support you, your practice and your patients.
Added workflow benefits to using iGeniE through Labcorp:
- Inheritest® carrier screening combined couple’s results are provided when both partners have testing and register with iGeniE. The personalized video incorporates both partners test results to create a combined reproductive risk assessment
- For patients receiving MaterniT® cfDNA screening, patients choose whether they want fetal sex results revealed
What about my high-risk patients?
Our genetic counselors contact high-risk patients by phone. This includes:
- All patients with a positive MaterniT screening result
- Carriers for X-linked conditions
- Couples who carry the same condition and are at 25% risk
